About Your Hosts
DJ Rich is no stranger to the karaoke scene. Long before stages and spotlights, karaoke was a fixture at family gatherings, where he’d belt out Korean pop songs to entertain relatives. As an adult, he took the practical route into software engineering, spending over a decade behind a screen — all while quietly holding onto his love for music.
Karaoke eventually became more than a hobby. Pushing himself to sing publicly despite intense social anxiety, Rich began performing in front of live audiences, one brave step at a time. That journey led him to the American Idol stage, where he performed in front of Katy Perry, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan. Soon after, on a whim, he auditioned for the legendary Apollo Theater’s “Showtime at the Apollo,” earning 3rd place with a performance of Whitney Houston’s “I Have Nothing.”
Rich later represented the state of Texas at the United States Karaoke Association’s IKF World Karaoke Cup in Las Vegas, placing 14th out of more than 75,000 contestants worldwide. After returning to the Dallas–Fort Worth area, he continued pursuing music while merging his technical expertise with his passion for karaoke, eventually joining the United States Karaoke Association as part of their technical staff to help strengthen and modernize their digital infrastructure.
DJ Gailicious (Gail) has been creating music for most of her life. She began writing songs at just 11 years old and, as a self-taught singer-songwriter, found her artistic voice through theater toward the end of high school. During her college years, she discovered the karaoke scene — a space that blended performance, community, and self-expression — and quickly fell in love with it.
Beyond the stage, Gail’s journey is one of resilience and transformation. Nearly two years sober, she is living proof that sobriety not only has a place in the music and entertainment industry, but can be a powerful foundation for growth, creativity, and connection. Along the way, she has completely reshaped her life, including a remarkable personal transformation in which she lost over 200 pounds.
In 2025, Gail earned the title of Texas Duets Champion at the United States Karaoke Association Karaoke Cup, securing the opportunity to represent Texas in the duets category at the World Finals in Las Vegas. Whether behind the booth or on stage, DJ Gailicious brings heart, authenticity, and an unwavering belief in people — creating spaces where everyone feels welcome, supported, and empowered to shine.
